Etivoet aims to cut emissions with 42% by 2030

Natural catastrophes have become frequent in recent years. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, (the IPCC), this is all connected to our CO2 emissions. Because these emissions are high, the Earth’s temperature is continually rising. Etivoet is shouldering its responsibilities regarding this. In line with our company’s sustainability goals, we have drawn up a reduction plan based on methods proven on an international level.

Etivoet aims to cut emissions 42% by 2023

In order to strengthen our sustainability ambitions, we called in sustainable management specialists, Encon. Firstly, Encon carried out a thorough analysis of the current situation and our environmental impact. Based on this, Encon then drew up a reduction plan including all measures that could be taken to effectively reduce our emissions. We then defined our goals, factoring in the Paris Agreement on climate change. So we are aiming to cut our CO2 emissions by 42% by 2030.

This is how we will achieve this:

  • Making our fleet of vehicles electric
  • Installing charging points
  • Modernising heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Opening a new site
  • Raising awareness about consumption
  • Green electricity
  • Waste monitoring
  • Electric or biodiesel vehicles for downstream transport
  • Rolling out a sustainable purchasing policy
  • Using more sustainable packaging

As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we have decided to sign up to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). These scientific goals constitute a globally-recognised standard for companies looking to reduce their environmental footprint.
